Resource Centers
Other than the Ramesh Mohan Library, The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, has two other Resource Centres.
Publications Unit
The Publications Unit was established in 1977 to publish and disseminate the learned work and the teaching materials brought out by this institution. A complete catalogue of our publications, ranging from research monographs to audio and print material for beginner learners of English and the foreign languages taught in our university, may be obtained from the Manager of this unit. EFL University has plans for an ambitious publications programme beginning with the launch of two new research journals: 'Contextures' and 'Interface'.
A modernization of the press attached to the publications unit through acquisition of state-of-the art equipment is now under way.
Educational Multi-media Research Centre (EM2RC)
The Educational Multi-Media Research Centre (EM2RC), set up at the university in 1984, includes a full fledged television and sound studio complex, and is equipped with the latest recording systems. The Centre has produced many programmes on various subjects such as natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, which are regularly telecast under the UGC’s Countrywide Classroom programmes on the Doordarshan national network, with an estimated viewership of more than twenty million. The programmes are structured in such a way that they take the students ‘out of the classroom’ and beyond the textbook. Many of these programmes have received critical acclaim and have been chosen for national awards in educational broadcasting. The Centre also conducts training and research programmes such as workshops for producers, cameraman and technical assistants, provides internship facilities for students of Mass Communication from various universities, and designs national experiments in Interactive Television.
