Languaging - A Journal of Language Teaching and Language Studies
Responsibilities
The editorial board of Languaging upholds the academic and ethical standards of the journal by overseeing the
entire publication process, ensuring the quality, integrity, and relevance of published content. The board is responsible for evaluating all
submitted manuscripts for their scholarly merit, relevance to the journal's scope, and adherence to submission guidelines. Each
submission undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team to check for plagiarism, formatting, and alignment with the journal’s aims.
Manuscripts that meet these basic criteria are forwarded to two independent reviewers for double-blind peer review.
Board members also play a key role in identifying and inviting qualified reviewers, coordinating the peer review process, and making final
decisions based on reviewers’ recommendations. They are expected to treat all submissions confidentially and without bias and to ensure that
the peer review process remains rigorous, fair, and timely. Additionally, the editorial board advises on policy matters, special issues, and
the strategic direction of the journal, with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusive academic practices. Members may also contribute
to promoting the journal, mentoring new reviewers, and upholding the journal’s ethical standards in alignment with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
