Languaging - A Journal of Language Teaching and Language Studies
Review Policies
All submissions to Languaging undergo a rigorous and transparent double-blind peer review process by two reviewers to ensure academic quality and relevance.
Once a manuscript is received, it is first screened by the editorial team for thematic alignment, structural coherence, language quality, and adherence to
ethical and formatting guidelines. Manuscripts that meet these initial criteria are then anonymized and sent to two reviewers—one from the internal academic
community and one external expert in the field.
The reviewers are selected based on their expertise related to the manuscript's topic and are asked to evaluate the submission on parameters such as originality,
conceptual clarity, methodology (where applicable), theoretical grounding, engagement with relevant literature, and overall contribution to the field.
The peer review process is constructive in nature, aiming to support the development of the manuscript through thoughtful critique and suggestions for
improvement. Reviewers are given three to four weeks to complete their evaluations, after which the editorial board makes a decision based on their
recommendations. Possible decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.
In cases of conflicting reviews, a third reviewer may be consulted. The final decision rests with the editorial board, which considers both reviewer feedback
and the journal’s standards. Authors are notified of the editorial decision along with anonymised reviewer comments. Revised manuscripts may be sent for a
second round of review, particularly in the case of major revisions. The journal is committed to maintaining fairness, timeliness, and academic rigor throughout
the review process. All parties involved authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards throughout the
review cycle.
