Scholarships for Post Graduate and Research Students
The matters of activation, procedure, and monitoring of the Fellowships and Scholarships being awarded to students of MA and PhD Programmes by the
relevant funding organisations are dealt with by the Fellowships and Scholarships Section. It operates under the direction of the administrative
control of the Office order of the Dean, Students' Welfare, EFL University Hyderabad.
The following Fellowships and Scholarships are offered:
1. UGC Junior Research Fellowship in Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences (JRF)
For candidates who have qualified at the national level test conducted by the UGC. Rs.16000/- per month and a contingency grant of Rs.10, 000/- per year.
HRA as per university rules, if living outside the campus.
2. Senior Research Fellowship
The candidates who have been awarded UGC Junior research fellowships
for two years may get UGC Senior Research fellowships after a review. Rs.18000/- per month and a Contingency Grant of Rs.20, 500/- per year.
3. National Fellowship for Higher Education of ST Students:
For ST candidates who are regular and full time Ph.D. students. The fellowship is funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
4. UGC JRF and Research Associateship for Foreign Nationals
For Foreign nationals, granted by the UGC and limited in number.
5. Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child for PG Students
For Single Girl Child students pursuing PG, awarded by the UGC on application and subject to satisfactory attendance and progress in studies.
Rs.2000/- per month for 20 months
6. Savitribai Jyotirao Phule fellowship for Single Girl Child
For Single Girl Child students who have registered for a Ph.D. Rs.31000/- per month and a Contingency Grant of Rs.10, 000/- per year and HRA as per rules,
if living outside the campus.
7. UGC Non-NET Fellowship
Research scholars who do not currently hold any fellowship or scholarship are eligible for UGC Non-NET Fellowship under recurring grants. Such scholars
must submit an application to the Fellowship & Scholarship Section via the Supervisor & Dean of the School/Head of the Department/Campus. All research
participants who are not in receipt of any other fellowship/scholarship are given this fellowship as follows: Ph.D. Rs.8000/-month for 3 years, extendable
by one year. Contingency Grant Rs.8000/- per annum.
8. Stipend for Students
Besides providing reservation for SC/ST and OBC students, the university also provides additional facilities to the SC and ST students. No tuition fee is
charged from SC/ST students and they get a monthly stipend of Rs.1000/- (Under-graduate and Post-Graduate students). No room rent is charged from SC/ST
students who require hostel accommodation.
