Establishment of the Department
  • Established in 2009 to promote research in comparative literary studies.
  • The ‘India Studies’ component was added to the department in the year 2014.
  • Responsibilities of the Department
    • Examine literatures of the global south and develop an alternative to the western models of comparative literary studies
    • Develop a tri-continental comparative literary model comprising literatures from South Asia, Africa and Latin America due to an innovative paradigm shift
    • Promote research and teaching in comparative studies and related areas
    • Publish research articles and books
    • Networking with other universities in India and abroad
    • Promote collaborative projects
